Deirdre Layne is a widely respected expert in natural remedies and healthcare professional with a specialized health practice in Energy Medicine since 1989. Deirdre uses laying-on-of hands energy healing techniques to heal physical, emotional, and spiritual illnesses and imbalances. She maintains a private care practice in Southern California.
Deirdre Layne is Founder & Owner of the popular alternative medicine website, Earth Clinic, which began in 1999 as a local site supporting Deirdre’s healing practice. Since her early twenties, Deirdre has traveled throughout the world to study spirituality, healing and native remedies. Deirdre Layne holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Mount Holyoke College.
In early 2000, Deirdre Layne was invited by the California Pacific Medical Center to be one of the participants in a National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded Distant Healing Study to determine the effects of Distant Healing, as an intervention performed either by experienced healers or nurses, on rates and severity of AIDS-related symptoms, medication side effects, adverse events, medical utilization, and scores on two psychological and quality of life inventories.
Deirdre holds a unique knowledge of body dynamism and the Yin & Yang flow of energy. In her mid-thirties, Deirdre became a nationally ranked medalist in Traditional Karate, winning several bronze and silver medals in kumite (sparring). A second degree black belt, Deirdre had the great honor of studying with and testing for her Dan rankings with Hidetaka Nishiyama, the prominent Japanese master of Shotokan karate, before his passing in 2008.
